For The Next 10 Days: “Beauty” Foods
Embrace the feel-good foods of summer
Posted June 18th, 2012 by noelle | 1 Comment »
As the temperatures rise, I start to crave cooler foods almost without even thinking about it. “Cooler foods” ⎯or as I like to them about them “beauty foods” ⎯such as a basket of petite strawberries,
a ripe avocado mashed into a guacamole, a leafy green salad tossed with a confetti of fresh vegetables and even a creamy smoothie are just some of the many foods I start craving more regularly this time of year. They are light to eat and refreshing to enjoy. I find eating more of these foods also gives me more energy (I need all I can get to chase after my son here!) and revitalizes tired skin. I also just feel happier. Many beauties I know also find eating more of these foods helps them shed a few unwanted pounds.
This week, this group is uniting beauties across America to encourage more of us to to eat more feel-good foods over the next ten days. In particular, the focus is on enjoying more fresh produce and juices and also dialing back on our intake of heavy meats, dairy, sugar, and alcohol. If you have been anxious about how to migrate to a healthier diet or you have been thinking about doing an actual juice or raw food “cleanse”, join me over the next 10 days where I’ll be sharing a few fun, simple and affordable ways to get started enjoying more fresh foods and juices.

Get started
If you’re sitting at your office now, and reminiscing about an epic weekend, but also looking for a few ways to get back on track with healthy eating, let these recipes inspire you when you hit the salad bar. I recommend the Southwestern Quinoa Salad, in particular.

Healthy Dinner Ideas
Thinking ahead to dinner? More and more health beauties are embracing more whole-grain dinners. Health beauties say the reason is because veggie-centric meals are easier for your body to digest. This allows for more time and energy to be spent on restoring and rejuvenating your body. Give a few of these recipes a try.

Are You A Mom-To-Be?
One of the greatest delights I found during my pregnancy (my son is now 14 months) was eating lots of farm stand salads, smoothies and juices. Now I do my best to continue to eat these foods and share them with my baby too. Give some of these recipes a try.

Just stopping by?
As many of you beauties know, my goal each week at Green Lemonade is to celebrate easy, natural, everyday ways to cleanse, restore and rejuvenate your body, your mind and pretty much anything around you. The benefit of removing crud you ask? Over time, crud can weigh on your happiness, your energy and sometimes even your thighs”¦.

LOVE your site! You eat a lot like I do, well, the way I used to. I am trying to get back to eating “clean”. I am doing a raw food cleanse right now and am so glad I found your blog.
