I recently had the delight to speak with well-respected, healthy-aging guru Dr. Oz Garcia. I was curious to know where he thought a “cleanse” might fit into the average beauty’s lifestyle. Here are his thoughts.

Overall, Dr. Oz supports a diet rich in vegetables, greens, fruit and lean proteins to support a healthy and vibrant life. He also believes, however, that intermittent cleansing can be helpful in helping your body to reset after a period of overindulgence and to support a more efficient metabolism. Dr. Oz recommends three easy ways to get started with a gentle cleanse below.
- Consider a Metagenics UltraClear Shake Dr. Oz recommends an easy way to cleanse for someone with a heavily processed diet rich in refined flours, sugars and red meats is to consider a day with a few Metagenics UltraClear shakes. Start out with one day on this plan and build up to three or four days a week.

- Juice Until Dinner A juice fast may not right for everyone, at least in the beginning. That said, most people are anxious to incorporate a few fresh pressed juices into their day. These enthusiastic beauties and their beaus should find a juice until dinner program quite manageable. This type of cleanse involves drinking fresh pressed vegetable and fruit juices during the daylight hours with a solid (usually raw) meal for dinner.
