Your Dude: Detox Breakfast Ideas

At this stage in the game based on this list, your man is not up for a smoothie for breakfast. That’s ok. There are other ways to ramp up your dude’s overnight housecleaning, healing and repairwork. Nathan1 140x140 Your Dude: Detox Breakfast Ideas Who knows, in the future he may join you for a smoothie. (But let’s not hold our breath right now). These are great non-smoothie breakfast alternatives to ramp up your bod’s detox work. How’s that you ask? They are made from simple, easy to recognize ingredients so your body can spend less time digesting food and more time on slimming and rejuvenating work.

Your dude: detox breakfast ideas
  • Two baked sweet potatoes mixed with butter or extra virgin olive oil and your choice of toppings (nutmeg, cinnamon etc.)

  • Sweet Potato Fries. Get the recipe here.

  • Bowl of steel cut oatmeal with almond milk or rice milk. (Learn more about the benefits of steel cut oatmeal here.) Top with raisins, nuts, honey, maple syrup or brown sugar. Or consider zero calorie Stevia*. (Skip the white sugar.) Time saving tip: make oatmeal the night before, and warm it up in the morning at home or at work.

  • A raw bar or two such as a Lara Bar. Raw Revolution also makes a nice breakfast bar. Skip the super processed bars with lots of fillers (ie – Luna Bars, Cliff Bars).

  • Two or more pieces of fruit: Apples, bananas, oranges, grapefruits etc. (PS-If you’re famished a ½ hour later, you didn’t eat enough fruit.)

Notes:

  • Coffee Cup of morning coffee is fine, just skip the sugar. Splash of cream or milk is fine. It’s not about perfection! (Or getting too crazy too fast!)
  • Water Generally speaking, the more water you drink each day, the better you’re going to feel. Drink a couple large glasses of water when you awake each morning. Also, buy yourself a 27-ounce stainless steel water bottle to keep filled on your way to work. Take some gulps around the office, and on your way back home. Water is a powerful, natural detox aid.
  • Stevia is a plant native to Central and South America. It is 300 times as sweet as sugar, but has zero calories. A little Stevia goes a long way. I recommend the Nu Naturals brand of Stevia in powdered form.
