Your Dude: His Wishes When It Comes To A Detox Breakfast

Curious what your guy is thinking when you ask him to do a detox with you? My good buddy Nathan provides us with a reality check on what your dude is probably thinking when it comes to his agreement to eat a detox breakfast with you for a few days. Nathan writes…

Dude desires + detox breakfasts
  1. Skip the blender. I’d rather not use a blender. Unless I’m mixing margaritas at one of my pool parties, I don’t use that thing. To me, just being able to pour everything in a big jug to stir and store in the fridge (the one at work or at home) is preferable. Let’s keep things simple.

  2. Hearty and filling. I’d like my breakfast to be hearty, so I’m not famished between meals and snacks. If I’m not going to be able to concentrate because I’m constantly fighting hunger pangs, it’s a no go.

  3. No road kill breath. I’ve got clients and people to interact with all day long–let’s spare them any unnecessary discomfort due to my detox plan. In the same vein, I’d rather it didn’t make my stomach feel like I ate the head of somebody else’s used toothbrush. A cleanse is work, yes, but a modicum of comfort is key.

  4. Burn fat. I’d like this breakfast to burn fat, not muscle (plenty of protein maybe?). Wouldn’t it be nice if something worked for me, rather than the other way around…

  5. My morning coffee. I’d like to be able to drink my coffee. Whether I’m detoxing or not, that’s a dealbreaker.

  6. Flavor. Some taste is always good, as is variety.

  7. My energy. I need my energy, so something that is gonna drain me during the detox days would be not be helpful. Would it be too much to ask for my cleanse to actually increase my energy? Let’s see what we can do…
