What is herbal coffee?
Herbal coffee is made from ingredients like herbs, grains, fruits and nuts that are roasted and ground to brew and taste like coffee.
Best way to prepare and enjoy herbal coffee
I’ve found that on its own, herbal coffee really can be quite an acquired taste. I don’t love pure herbal coffee on its own. However, I do think it works amazingly well when mixed with a good regular coffee grind. (I like the Illy brand myself). When I brew herbal coffee, I will add equal parts regular coffee and herbal coffee, and flavor as usual. You hardly notice the difference. It’s definitely worth trying.
Where can you buy herbal coffee?
Most specialty grocery stores including Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Jimbo’s and Vons carry it. Boutique health food stores also carry it. I’ve found iherb.com also carries it online at a good price.
What is the best brand of herbal coffee?
I really like Teeccino brand herbal coffee. This herbal coffee is made from all natural and certified organic ingredients like organic carob, barley, chicory, dates, almonds, figs, and it’s sugar-free. It comes in flavors including Mocha, Vanilla Nut, Hazelnut, Chocolate, Mint and Almond.
Give it a try and let me know what you think.
