The Great Debate: Green Smoothies Vs Green Juices
Which one is better for you?

Good morning beauties! A few of you have emailed asking for some clarification about the differences between green smoothies and green juices. The main difference between the two green drinks is that one is made in a juicer (green juice) and one is made in a blender (green smoothie). Both green cocktails are rich in vitamins, minerals, protein and chlorophyll (great for regenerating and cleansing your body). Both of these drinks are easy to digest (which allows your body more time and energy for its housekeeping work) but one has fiber (green smoothies) and one doesn’t (green juices). Both drinks pretty much use the same ingredients, but some beauties prefer the green juices for their lightness, others love the thick, creaminess of the green smoothies. Personally, I find green smoothies are more convenient to make and enjoy.
What is a green juice?
A green juice is made in a juicer. It typically includes several vegetables, including at least one leafy green vegetable like spinach, kale, chard, or romaine. Popular green juices also include some fruit such as a pear or an apple. When I make green juice at home I like to use a Breville juicer; It is super easy to use and to clean. (Learn more here.) What is a green smoothie?
A green smoothie, like a green juice, is also made with fruit and vegetables including at least one leafy green lettuce. Popular green smoothie recipes are made with spinach (a relatively mild green), bananas, water and ice. My favorite green smoothies include a variety of berries, lemon, fresh ginger, basil and mint. Occasionally, I also like to add a scoop of nut butter (extra protein) and a slice of avocado (for extra creaminess).
Which one is better a green smoothie or a green juice?
Green juices and green smoothies are equally great. Go with what tastes better and is easiest for you to make and enjoy!
