There’s No Such Thing As “Cheating” On A Juice Fast
Cleansing gurus actually recommend you eat

Years ago, when I did my first juice fast, I was worried about having to “cheat” by eating a little healthy food. In hindsight, if I had eaten a little appetizer sized meal I think I would have felt a lot better and enjoyed my first juice cleanse a lot more. (As some of you know my first juice fast was a disaster and I ended up devouring some chocolate cake.)
What I’ve come to realize over the years is that most cleansing gurus actually recommend you enjoy a healthy, slightly-larger-than-appetizer sized lunch or dinner during each day of a juice (or smoothie) fast.

Stick to a liquid breakfast
Most cleansing gurus agree that breakfast is not the time to nibble. A liquid meal consisting of a nutritious juice (or smoothie) elongates the time your body can spend on it’s powerful overnight detoxification and slimming work. For this reason, you’ll actually find cleansing divas enjoying a liquid breakfast even when they’re not on a formal “cleanse.”

You decide between eating lunch or dinner
Cleansing gurus agree that the best way to ease into juice (or smoothie) cleanse is by sipping on all but one of your meals each day. Some cleansing gurus recommend eating your daily meal for lunch and others recommend eating your daily meal at dinner. You need to decide what feels best for you. Lately, I find that sometimes my body needs lunch and other days I’m fine until an early dinner.

You have many options when it comes to what to eat
When it comes to the question of what to eat, most popular cleansing divas agree that eating a raw meal or even a cooked meatless meal are two terrific ways to further dial up your body’s natural detoxification work. However, they also agree that complimenting a healthy salad with a serving of a lean protein is also just fine. After all, you are spending the balance of your day sipping on enzyme-rich, youth supporting drinks.
