Best Protein Powder – LifeTime Vegetarian Protein Powder

You’re not big into supplements, but sometimes a hectic schedule doesn’t leave you much of a choice. You know adequate protein (but not an excessive amount) is a key part of a rejuvenating lifestyle. After all this lifestyle about shedding the gunk that may be preventing you from reaching feel good bliss and then replenishing your body with key nutrients. Protein is needed for the growth, maintenance and rebuilding of your vibrant cells and heavenly tissues. You know all that, now you just need help to decide which protein powder to buy? I recommend checking out LifeTime’s vegetarian protein powders. Here’s what I like about this brand.

LifeTime Vegetarian Protein Powders
  1. Good quality. LifeTime protein powders are made with real vegetarian food (pea protein, brown rice protein and hemp protein with chia seeds). Many protein powders are made in China today and contain chemicals and additives. LifeTime protein powders are also soy-free and dairy-free. (Many beauties today are allergic and suffer gassy consequences from soy and dairy.)
  2. Good price. In the world of supplements, this is a good quality protein powder at a good, competitive price. The cost works out to be ~$1/ounce. Which equates to about $1 per serving.
  3. Good taste with a punch of natural sweetness + nice texture. LifeTime protein is light and fluffy and dissolves well. There is no chalky after-taste like some brown rice protein powders (for instance). This protein powder supplement is definitely on the sweeter side (there is a natural sweentess which is derived from the Stevia plant*) – so if you’re not really a sweet person this may not be the supplement powder for you. It took me a time or two to get used to the sweetness, but now I love it.

How to use it

I recommend mixing this protein powder with half water and half almond milk (I like Blue Diamond brand almond milk), combined with a banana and some ice. This protein also tastes great mixed with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Life Time Basics Plant Protein Powder I recommend 1 tablespoon of powder (~65 calories per scoop, ~10 grams of protein) with each shake.

Recommended flavor

The Vanilla flavor tastes great. And for the more adventurous of you I’d recommend trying the Basic with Greens flavor.

Where to buy

Definitely check out iherb.com. I’ve found this site to have the best price for this vegetarian protein powder (and many other natural supplements) – by far. Plus iherb.com offers great (and often free) shipping.

Note: Stevia is a plant native to Central and South America. It is 300 times as sweet as sugar, but has zero calories. I generally recommend the NuNaturals brand of Stevia in powdered form.
