You have a strategy in hand for the big Thanksgiving meal tonight. Now you just need to make it through the day without filling up on gourmet cheeses and Grandpa’s favorite pate. These 3 tricks will help you keep on track to feeling-good and not stuffed-like-a-bird at the days end.

  1. Get out and get a sweat on first thing. Nothing like starting the day with a good sweat to help set the stage for a healthy day. Go for a walk, a bike ride or even a swim. Bring your mom too.

  2. Skip the blueberry pancake and carb overload at breakfast. Have a bowl of steel cut oatmeal, a bowl of fruit or a harvest smoothie instead so you don’t crave sugary carbs all day.

  3. Stay hydrated. Keep a bottle of sparkling or still water around to stay hydrated (and in the process keep your mouth busy and your tummy feeling full). Toss in a slice of lemon, a splash of apple cider or even a dash of cranberry juice to keep your drinks interesting.
