Health beauties love green smoothies because leafy greens (particularly dark leafy greens) help to scrub your body of crud that may be weighing on your youthful glow, your energy and your happiness.
What is a green smoothie?
There are many types of “green” smoothies. Some green smoothies feature lots of fruit and only a small handful of a “familiar” leafy green, like spinach. Other green smoothies feature less fruit and could include a variety of leafy greens, like kale, collard greens, beet greens and some lettuces. The most popular green smoothies, however, usually consist of a creamy fruit base (made with strawberries and a banana) blended together with a few spinach leaves. Popular green smoothies usually consist of ~70-80% fruit and 20-30% greens. Contrary to what you might think, green smoothies, when prepared in the right way, taste just like a fruit smoothie. But you really have to try one to believe it for yourself.
