When you are juice fasting for longer than 2-3 days, you must also be “keeping things moving” with a few trips to the restroom. This crucial detail is often not fully disclosed in most juicing resources – or its hidden in the details which is frustrating!! Many headaches and uncomfortable side effects might have been avoided more easily!
Why is it so important to eliminate you ask?
The reason is because juicing loosens up old waste and softens up blockages in the body. However, juicing doesn’t ultimately enable you to push that waste out the door like fibrous veggies and fruits do. The last thing you want to do is have loose waste circulating around the body – it can be harmful!
I have heard first time juicers say they had a wonderful experience on a 7 day juice fast without any uncomfortable side effects. And while this may be true, it’s not true for everyone. This blissful experience usually catches up with the juicers on the second go around, if the uncomfortable side effects missed them on a first prolonged juice fast without a gravity administered colonic.
Ultimately, all detox gurus and home juice companies will tell you that if you are doing a juice fast for longer than 2-3 days you need to schedule a gravity administered colonic. If the concept of this makes you feel totally uncomfortable that’s fine – just juice until dinner then or keep your juice fasting short and no more than 2-3 days at a time.
