Join Me This August on The Clean Program

This August join me as I try out Dr. Alejandro Junger’s 21 day at home detox program. This program can be completed at home with no additional money invested (other than groceries) or you can purchase a breakfast and dinner meal replacement kit if you would like a bit more structure. Never heard of this program? Learn more about the details here.

I’m excited to start this program with my sister on August 1st and anyone else who would like to join me. After a stressful few months as an up and coming artist, my sister Katie is looking for a little bit of a structured “reset” after a few weeks of crazy travel and lots of hard work. It’s always nice to have some support along such a journey, so here I am. (This is a sampling of her work below.)

As you know, the beauty of a whole foods detox program (such as this one by Dr. Junger) is that it is adjustable to accommodate everyone. Raw, uncooked foods by their nature are naturally cleansing foods which ultimately help your skin to glow, your energy to soar and your mood to lift. Learn more about how to eat more raw, cleansing foods to feel and look your best. Simply want to find an EVERYDAY way to eat that helps you to feel and look your best? Or perhaps you want a little MORE and want to “reset” from a recent indulgence or two? There is a solution and a way of eating to for each of these scenarios.

I have 5 key goals this August

My 5 goals are as follows:

  1. To use the month to “reset”. Twenty-one days is a long enough period that you can get back to a neutral position with your eating and food relationships and sugar levels. Lately, I feel like I want something sweet after every meal. (Anyone else?)
  2. To eat a lot of farm fresh produce when making my (vegetarian) meals during the cleanse. Its a perfect time of year for the farmers markets on the East Coast. Each time I go I find a new farm varietal that I’ve never heard of before – perhaps a new type of heirloom tomato. There’s awesome stuff in these little roadside stands that you never find in mainstream grocery stores. It can be a lot of fun.
  3. To practice mindful eating, and to work on better distinguishing between true hunger and that other type of “hunger” that usually involves emotions (gasp!).
  4. To practice consistent healthy eating both during the week and on the weekends. Sometimes my glass of wine on the weekends seems to never be empty thanks to you my darling friends.
  5. To continue to work on finding balance and satisfaction in smaller meals. (I’ve been trying to adopt the Buddha Bowl strategy more consistently but sometimes if I don’t eat enough in the morning I’m ravished by the afternoon). I’m hoping that by sticking to smaller portion sizes over the course of these 21 days, the smaller sized meals became normalized.
