Eat a light breakfast. Experiment with juices and smoothies.
”The body’s ability to flush trapped fluid and toxins and metabolize stored fat peaks between 6am and noon.” – Stanford University School of Medicine
Many mainstream dieticians claim the best way to set up vibrant energy for the day and ignite weight loss is with a hearty, healthy breakfast, but really its about letting the body detoxify for as long as possible in a natural, whole foods, diet-free detoxifying lifestyle. This means, let the body continue detoxifying (which generally takes place overnight while we’re sleeping) – into the morning hours.
Eat In The Morning, But Eat Light
The lighter you eat throughout the morning and through day, gives the body that much more time for its “housecleaning.” For you this translates to greater energy throughout the morning, and more time for the body to clean out excess waste that’s been hanging around. Waste = excess weight.
A light, enzyme filled breakfast consisting of a fresh pressed green juice or a blended green smoothie or even a bowl of fruit is easy for the body to digest. You’ll then maximize your intake of enzymes needed to perform fat burning biochemical processes and won’t slow detoxification with foods that are hard to digest.
Fresh Pressed Juice Recipes, Green Smoothie Recipes

Try these ideas.
Ideally you want 12 hours of uninterrupted “fasting” each day
The goal is to try and get in 12 hours of uninterrupted “fasting” each day.
Some of you, depending on your schedules, might incorporate a larger, solid meal mid day, and then enjoy a blended smoothie, soup or fresh pressed juice for dinner.
Others will prefer a lighter day, with a bigger dinner.
Experiment to see what works best for you.
Your body’s detoxification efforts ramp up 8 hours after your last meal
The body usually cranks up its “housecleaning” and cleansing efforts 8 hours after a bigger, solid food meal. And if you could try and find a period of 12 hours, that’s when some real detox goodness starts to happen. Detox goodness of course is when the body gets time to clean out stored waste residue in our cells and tissues that may be inhibiting peak energy and performance.
Mid-morning snack ideas for when the smoothie is just not enough in the beginning
If you are having a hard time with just a fresh pressed juice or green smoothie in the morning, perhaps also add a hearty fruit salad mid-morning. Or instead, mid-morning, you might then have a slice of well-toasted bread (try to have a piece of sprouted grain bread if possible) with almond butter to tide you over until lunch.
