Grab Your Fins + Kickboard

Innovative interpretations of exercise this summer out in Montauk has me inspired. The locals, as well as the regular weekend-warriors, are in some pretty fantastic shape. The most interesting thing about the “scene” out there you ask? Hardly anyone ever steps into a gym. They are in the water or on their bikes as often as possible, instead. They are just keeping active outside, and in the meantime having fun.
This summer, take advantage of the ocean, bay, pond or lake near you. Strap on a pair of fins and grab a kickboard or a boogie board. In between building sandcastles with your little ones on the beach, or catching a few rays of sunshine, hop in the water and use your fins and board for 20-30 swift kicks whenever you get a few minutes. It’s a non-intimidating way to get into the water, and enjoy a little exercise.
