Today, we continue to celebrate a fun, feel-good lifestyle with the team from Organic Avenue – the celebrity adored juice, smoothie and fresh food boutique here in New York.
Today, Tanya from Organic Avenue’s Southampton outpost joins us to share what she loves to do to feel her best.
In case you’ve just arrived for this healthy living week with Organic Avenue, consider also checking out how Organic Avenue’s Fernanda and Kalyn also celebrate feeling awesome.
Tanya, welcome! Can you give us a little insight into your favorite things to do to be healthy?
I start every day with yoga stretches – even if I don’t get a full workout in. It’s important for me to take the time to center myself and prepare for the day. When I can’t have the juices from Organic Avenue I try to incorporate fresh greens into every meal.
What are some of your favorite go-to resources for organic produce and foods for those of us on a budget?
Golden Earthworm Farms is a great place on the east end of Long Island for organic produce. And many local grocery stores are starting to carry organic produce which is great in a pinch.
If people wanted to reset after a period of indulgence, what Organic Avenue program might they consider? And if Organic Avenue may not be an option right now, is there one change you might recommend people make for a few days to “reset”?
I would recommend the Organic Avenue L.O.V.E. Fast as it has smoothies, green juices and a small salad. If that isn’t an option, just add a few more in-season greens into your daily meals and drink your water.

Can you recommend a retreat or spa for someone who would like a little supervision in their indulgence resetting/detox program? Or even something closer to home to consider? What do you do?
The Mediterranean Seaweed Wrap at the Spa at St. Tropez in Port Jefferson, New York would compliment any of the cleanse programs at Organic Avenue as they do a full body brushing and use seaweed to draw out toxins from the body.
What inspired you to start enjoying a more veggie-centric lifestyle?
I was lucky to have family meals that were centered around root vegetables and in-season greens with meat in smaller portions. When I started to cook for myself I wanted to be more healthy and ethically conscious and found it an easy transition to plant-based proteins.
What one piece of advice would you give to people just learning about the benefits of a more veggie centric lifestyle?
Think of it as an adventure. Try one new food or recipe a week and enjoy the new flavors and food combinations you discover. Just remember to listen to your body and let it set the pace for your healthy journey.
Is there a favorite treat you would recommend newcomers to Organic Avenue to pick up?
The Lemon Lime Shake is a fantastic summer drink. It’s perfect as a quick breakfast or afternoon treat.

Some people are intimidated by green juice……what would you recommend?
I would recommend starting with the cucumber juice. It is light and sweet and not at all intimidating. I think it would give someone a good idea of how fresh Organic Avenue juices are and perhaps pique their interest about the other green juices.
When you are traveling and can’t get an Organic Avenue juice or smoothie fix, what do you suggest eating to stay healthy and energized?
Try to eat as simply as possible and stay away from processed foods and refined sugars. Having raw organic nuts or seeds on hand is always good to tide you over until you can prepare your own meal or get to Organic Avenue again.
Thank you for your wonderful and inspiring thoughts Tanya. We look forward to seeing you out in the Hamptons this summer!
