Banana Almond Milk Smoothie

Serving Size: 1 (16 ounces) ~280 calories

Ingredients

1 cup almond milk (I like the Blue Diamond brand, Original)
1 banana, frozen
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 teaspoon sliced almonds (optional)
3 ice cubes

Better-for-you ingredients

  • Almond milk a non-dairy alternative, is favored by detox divas for the ease at which your body is able to absorb its nutrients and then fully eliminate anything after that. Ultimately, these beauties believe eating these types of clean foods allows your body to more quickly return to its detoxification and beauty work.
  • Almond butter a favorite of detox beauties and their dudes because it contains less of a toxic load than peanut butter (which is often subject to a greater amount of pesticides to control mold).

Directions

Combine the above ingredients into a Blendtec, or good powerful blender until smooth and creamy. Add more almond milk to thin if desired. Top with sliced almonds. Enjoy!

Great site. This recipe brought me to your site - my husband showed me a video from another site. I'm looking forward to going through the whole site ;-) First of it's kind as far as I know!
Just tried this smoothie - added cacao nibs and flaxseed and threw the almonds in! Very yummy. I've been drinking Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla for sometime now - personal and family favorite. Can't believe I haven't thought to make some smoothies with it! Now I need to get some bananas in the freezer for more! Congratulations on such a wonderful site! Perfect find for the New Year. Congratulations on the babe as well - welcome to the wonderful club of motherhood. Cheers!

I like the way you think! I too occasionally throw in some cacao nibs. I'll have to add some coconut oil to my smoothies too here and there. Great call.
  • I add a tablespoon of coconut oil to this and if you have cacao nibs on hand and throw in a tablespoon of those, it's even more delicious. Love this smoothie so much.
