Creamy Green Smoothie Recipe

You won’t believe how filling, creamy and delicious the addition of an avocado can make a green smoothie. This is the smoothie I recommend to all my friends who are skeptical about drinking anything GREEN.

This is my favorite green smoothie!

Green smoothies are filled with green leafy veggies. But they are so tasty, you won’t even know you are eating them. The addition of a half of an avocado to this green smoothie adds a creamy twist to the classic green smoothie. Its especially warming during the colder winter months.

How to make a Creamy Green Smoothie

Serving Size: 1

Ingredients
8 oz. filtered water
handful of baby spinach
½ of a ripe avocado (if you are looking for something super
creamy and comforting – especially during colder months – add the whole avocado)
½ of a banana
1/2 of a lime
handful of ice
Directions

Combine the ingredients listed above into a blender. Any blender will do, though a high power blender makes the smoothies even creamier and more delicious. Add water and ice to thin or thicken as desired. Make sure the ice is fully blended. Top with squeeze of lime if desired.

fresh ginger and basil....those are 2 of my favorite smoothie ingredients. banana and avocado being the other 2!

Last week I had some fresh basil and added about 5-6 leaves and it added a nice finish to this smoothie, though I usually don't use avocado in it, just spinach, banana, ice, water and egg white powdered protein. Also added some fresh ginger which was a nice change.

its delicious...arguably a little work, but delicious. you can make one at home with a young organic thai coconut or a young coconut from hawaii. you open the coconut, drain the fresh coconut water and then scoop out the soft tender meat inside. put the meat and coconut water into the blender and mix! sometimes opening these coconuts can be a little tricky but I found an easy, cleaver free way if you are interested.

    whats a coconut milkshake?
  • juicynoelle
Fun! I'm convinced it's the avocado that really makes it. Have you tried a young coconut milkshake before? I cant get enough of them lately. Just soft, tender coconut meat from a young coconut blended with the fresh coconut water.
