Dial Up Your Youthful Glow

Before suffering through one more of those pasteurized (and often sugar-loaded) green juice monsters from your local grocery store, give this Green Smoothie with Basil + Mango a try. Green smoothies are loaded with cleansing greens which support your body’s housekeeping and rejuvenation work (glowing skin anyone?) while also providing nutrient support. I use chard in this recipe, but you may also consider substituting the chard with spinach or even a leaf of kale instead.

Better-for-you ingredients

- Leafy greens, particularly DARK leafy greens, are loaded with vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and blood alkalinizers for superior health and energy. These nutrients help with the awakening and releasing of crusty old gunk in your body. This old crusty gunk can ultimately weigh on your energy and your mood. Dark leafy green vegetables and juices are also great for reversing signs of aging and helping you to achieve a healthy glow.
- Cashews are a great protein alternative to meat, fish and eggs. Cashews are also rich in magnesium (which helps with stress).
Directions
Place water, almond milk, mango, cashews, basil and ice cubes into a Blendtec, or good powerful blender until smooth and creamy. Pour into two glasses and enjoy! Garnish with lime if desired.
