Cinnamon Delight

Wondering what to do with all that harvest squash your neighbor brought over? Toss it in the blender with a splash of almond milk, cinnamon and a hint of sweetness to warm you up on one of these cold fall mornings. Winter squash, particularly butternut and acorn squash, is loaded with beta-carotene which has been shown to have very powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Squash is also a great source of fiber to help your elimination system keep up with the awakening and releasing of toxins in your body so that you can continue to feel energized and radiant.
Harvest Smoothie
Serving Size: 1 (~16 ounces)
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup almond milk (I recommend the Blue Diamond brand)
1/4 TEAspoon of Stevia (or 1 TBSP of molasses for a real harvest feel)
sprinkle of cinnamon
Directions
Combine the ingredients listed above into a high speed blender (I recommend investing in a Blendtec). Any blender will do, but a high power blender makes the smoothies even creamier and more delicious. If you like, you might consider warming the milk on the stove for a minute or two.
Notes: Stevia is a plant native to Central and South America. It is 300 times as sweet as sugar, but has zero calories. A little Stevia goes a long way. I recommend the Nu Naturals brand of Stevia in powdered form. Learn more about Stevia here.
