Better-for-you ingredients

Learn more about the better-for-you ingredients in this recipe:

  • Berries are packed with antioxidants, or “free radical fighters.” Antioxidants may help prevent cancer and heart disease as well as slow the aging process.
  • Almond milk, a non-dairy alternative, is favored by detox divas for the ease at which your body is able to absorb its nutrients and then fully eliminate anything after that. Ultimately, these beauties believe eating these types of foods allows your body to more quickly return to its detoxification and beauty work.
  • Tahini is an organic and protein rich alternative to peanut butter. Peanuts are believed to be heavily sprayed with pesiticides to control mold, weighing on your body’s toxic load.

  • Directions

Place mixed berries, almond milk, tahini, water, ice and Stevia into a Blendtec, or good powerful blender until smooth and creamy. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

    * Notes: Stevia is a plant native to Central and South America. It is 300 times as sweet as sugar, but has zero calories. A little Stevia goes a long way. I recommend the Nu Naturals brand of Stevia in powdered form.

I think that would be just fine.
A scoop of almond butter or peanut butter would
    Also work!

Would 1 tablespoon of  nonfat plain greek yogurt work in place of the tahini ?
