Maple Walnut Cream

This Maple Walnut Cream is sweet and delicious. It’s also full of heart healthy Omega 3 fats. Omega 3 fats are believed to help reduce the risk of heart disease. They may also protect against symptoms of depression, dementia, cancer, and arthritis. This Maple Walnut Cream would be a fabulous addition to a fresh bowl of blueberry “cereal” or strawberry “cereal” with a splash of almond milk or coconut milk. Maple Walnut Cream

Makes ~1/4 cup; Serving Size: 1/2 tablespoon, ~100 calories per serving

Ingredients
1 cup walnuts
1/4 cup coconut milk (So Delicious makes a nice one)
1 teaspoon maple syrup
Directions

Place the walnuts, coconut milk and maple syrup into a food processor. Let the ingredients combine for a good 30 seconds. You may need to scrape down the sides of the food processor (depending on what you are using). Add an additional tablespoon of water to facilitate blending if need be. The walnut cream is done when you scoop it all together and it looks like a nutty paste.

Notes:

  1. Coconut milk and almond milk are nice creamy alternatives to dairy. Dairy is believed to be a big contributor to excess fat and cellulite.
  2. Don’t have a food processor? A Blendtec, or good powerful blender would also work.
